Should actually be getting money back this year??
In any case, rewarded myself by buying multiple Groupons for Indian food.
It’s how I do.

In any case, rewarded myself by buying multiple Groupons for Indian food.
It’s how I do.
- 1 large apple, sliced/chopped thinly
- cinnamon
- 1 tbsp EarthBalance or butter
- 1 tbsp flour
- 2-3 tbsp brown sugar
- however much dry, quick-cook oats you like
- (raisins, if you like)
Spread the chopped apple on a small pan, sprinkle cinnamon on top (I like a little nutmeg, too). Mix the rest of the ingredients in a bowl. Scatter them on top of the apple. Shove all of that in toaster oven at 350 for … 10-20 mins, or however long it takes for the apple to get mushy.
Consume with joy (and maybe a cup of almond milk).
Struggling to resolve my desire for chocolate cake with the fact that the skirt I am wearing, which is currently a bit tight on my natural waist could once nearly be pulled all the way off, over my ass, while still buttoned.
*sigh*
Oh my life.
Going on a first date in about… three minutes. Damn. I’ve got major butterflies - mostly because I’ve got actual hopes for this one. It’s exhausting getting ready for each of these dates, trying to be excited and anticipatory in a positive way, when so many of them just completely bomb.
Ah well, at the very least, I’ll get to eat Indian food.
Why yes, I am eating leftover bacon-jalapeno mac ‘n cheese at 12:15 a.m.
But I already wrote 3/5 pages of the response paper (and the syllabus says “no longer than 5 pages,” so I could totally just write four, right?), and I have a list of questions for class discussion.
So, I just need to finish the paper, outline my presentation bits, and finish writing my primary source review for my second-year-paper adviser.
“Just.”
My roommate made a cake shaped like a semi truck for her boyfriend’s birthday. Actually, Optimus Prime to be specific. And she tried one kind of cake for it that sort of fell apart, so she ended up making two cakes. So all the bits she cut off and the bits of the first cake are just…
And now I would like cake. CAKE CAKE CAKE. With excessive frosting.
Instead, I will try to be content with my homemade veggie mu shu and an Anchor Porter.
GPOYW “cooking for one” edition.
So many of my friends have left town, I’m not going home for the holidays, and I think I’m coming down with some sort of plague, so I decided to cook a decent meal for myself and watch more of Homeland. I modified Rachael Ray’s egg pasta with leeks, cutting back on the number of egg yolks, exchanging beer for white wine (since I didn’t have any) and adding a bunch of greens. I also cooked up an artichoke, and I have a friend’s home-brewed milk stout on the side.
My dinner may not look so yummy, but it tastes great.
