thatkindofwoman:

Dear me,

Let it all go.

The fear, the heartache, the days after days of doing things because they are the things that need to be done. Stop second guessing yourself. Stop finding reasons to dislike yourself. Take a moment and look. Who you are as a woman, what kind of friend you are to yourself. Don’t neglect yourself. Don’t neglect to comfort yourself when you need it. Don’t forget to talk yourself out of a bad week, or day, or several days.

Look at your bumps. Your bruises, that odd freckle on your left thigh. Your skin is getting older, your soul should appreciate it in it’s prime.

Stop. Listen. Stop. Don’t listen. Get into heated debates. Don’t follow the intersections. Stop looking at your smart phone when you don’t know what to do in a social situations.

Cry. Sob. Yell. Sit in your car at a country road intersection and play A.A. Bondy over and over and over again. Tell someone you love them. Don’t lie to them.

Keep secrets for yourself. Wear no makeup, wear too much. Wear whatever you want because it makes you feel a certain way. Make late night movies of yourself and vent like it’s no body’s business.

Figure out what the hell you can do tomorrow before you figure out what the hell you want to do when you are 45.

Don’t stop loving. Or looking for love. Or fighting, or laughing. Don’t change, unless it’s for the better.

Stop comparing yourself to what you think you should be. Weep openly while watching Wes Anderson movies. It’s okay. Also, let it go. Let it all fucking go, so at the end of the night you can take a deep breath, release it and rest.

Let it go.

Love,

Me

I couldn’t have said it better.
