Pursuit: Brooklyn Bridge w/my Perrito
Finally, today we’ve gotten some sunshine. After a week of rain and blah, there is no excuse not to explore the outdoors. So Elle and I are gonna hike it across the Brooklyn Bridge. Although I’ve run across it several times, I’ve actually only walked it twice. It’s definitely one of those things - like the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Cloisters or Coney Island, that you just have to do if you live here.
I’m actually embarrassed I don’t do it more often. It is so simple:
Enter on the Manhattan side of the bridge, near City Hall, from Park Row and Centre Street. Take 6 train to Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall or the J train to Chambers Street. You can’t miss it :)
Steer clear of the bike lane and snap away (so so sad I lost my camera! I feel naked!)
When I exit the bridge, I’m going to take Elle around to the park under the bridge (they have an awesome dog run) and then go for some ice cream (she can eat a little vanilla) at Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory on Water Street or maybe check out how long the line as at Grimaldi’s on Fulton Street.
None of this is new to a NYer…we all know how (I think?) awesome the bridge is. But it is little adventures like this that sometimes we forget to take the time to do. Living in NYC there are so many choices, sometimes its easy to let a year lapse with no visit to the Met (the horror!) or without a long stroll on a beautiful bridge.

I lived in NY for four years and didn’t manage to do this. As soon as I return, this is a top priority.
