Reason #743 Why New Job Rocks
emphasisadded:
They bring in a manicurist for us on Fridays!
God that is helpful…because let’s be honest, who really gets out of work early enough to make it to the salon for their pre-weekend mani/pedi?
Now I get to squeeze in a couple quick coats of “Lincoln Park After Dark” in between my 11:00 status call and 12:30 deck review!
New Job FTW.
My god, where do you work?
9:22 p.m.
And I’m so ready to tuck in for the night.
But I made plans to go out, and I WILL. I will also definitely be coming home before midnight.
Yeah, I’m cool. Don’t deny.

Deathly Hallows rumored to be released in 3D
harrypotterismylife:
The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog is reporting that Warner Bros. will release both parts of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in 3D. The article reads: “Early 3D-conversion tests on Warners’ remake of ‘Clash of the Titans’ have gone so well that — combined with boosted enthusiasm for 3D in the wake of the ‘Avatar’ tsunami — the Burbank studio has decided to...
Insufficient
Today, for no good reason at all, was one of those days in which I feel totally and completely insufficient. Like, I should be smarter, prettier, more athletic, more well-read, more driven, more, more, more… harder, faster, stronger…
I’ve no clue by whose standards. My own, I guess (and aren’t those the worst of all?).

Tiger Woods and the Case Against Monogamy -... →
Slightly old news, but… thoughts?
“Monogamy just isn’t always realistic. There’s nothing wrong with admitting that. It simply doesn’t work for some. And just as people choose different religions, eating habits, and places to call home, I believe we should be able to choose different ways to live out our relationships.”

I think I’m having a quarter-life crisis a couple of years early.
Backtoback
Today was one of those backtoback days, from one thing to the next to the next. I go to bed the night before just dreading them, but then, it turns out that I feel pretty fulfilled at the end of the day.
Example:
Woke up at 6:15 a.m., went to work at the cafe from 7 a.m. to 2:20 p.m., then to the gym from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., then home to shower. I tutored an 8-year-old in Hebrew from 4-5...

The New Annoying Wedding Trend: Save-the-Date Videos — Daily Intel
You might have seen it already, but it’s worth watching for sure, just in the sheer scale of production value alone - truly more epic than cute - yet I liked it.
Wow, this is really awful and a completely annoying wedding trend…

annaetc-deactivated20100711-dea asked: I've read that contrary to popular belief, an individual does not have an infinite supply of willpower. Rather, we each have a set amount to use during the day, and if we expend it in one area, we'll have less for another. So think of it this way: you used your willpower to be do well in other ways, and now you're rewarding yourself with ice cream. Or something.

World Bank waiving Haiti’s debt payments →
fishy:
caraobrien:
Currently, Haiti’s debt to the World Bank, which is interest-free, is about $38 million—about 4% of Haiti’s total external debt. Due to the crisis caused by the earthquake, we are waiving any payments on this debt for the next five years and at the same time we are working to find a way forward to cancel the remaining debt.
Thoughts: 1) Good for you, World Bank. 2) $38...
Days off
For me, having a day off is an excuse not to do a single thing.
I woke up at 10 today, and I am just getting out of bed now, at 2 p.m.
I don’t have a whole lot to do, but days off turn into my not doing anything at all productive.
I am a SLUG.
